University or University College
If you are a UK University or University College then you are eligible to participate.
Please arrange to complete the application form and submit with the additional information requested within the form.
We will then write to you to confirm the next steps, including making arrangements for completion of a ‘deed of accession’ setting out the terms of your membership in USS.
You can only begin to admit eligible staff once confirmed by USS.
Non-university employer
If, after reading the eligibility criteria, you think you are eligible, you should complete and submit the application form.
You should submit this as soon as practical as we will need to submit your application to our solicitors for consideration.
If they are satisfied you are eligible to join then your application will be forwarded to the next board meeting of the trustee company.
Please note these meetings are generally quarterly. Please contact Eifion Morris on 0151 478 7044 for the date of the next meeting.
If your eligibility is confirmed we will then arrange for the ‘deed of accession’ to be agreed, normally within 1 month of the board meeting.
Importantly you cannot admit any eligible staff into USS until this deed has been agreed and signed by the institution and, if required, by the guarantor/s to the application.
