Meet the board of Directors of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited. Between them, they hold a wealth of operational, financial and academic expertise that helps ensure the smooth governance of USS.
Professor Adam Tickell joined the board in April 2024. He is also a member of the Investment Committee.
With a career spanning more than 20 years – starting as a Research Assistant at the University of Manchester in 1989 – Professor Tickell has extensive executive experience of working in the UK’s Higher Education sector.
Ellen Kelleher joined the board on 1 November 2021. Ellen is the Chair of the Governance and Nominations Committee and a member of the Pensions Committee.
Gary became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited in 2019. Gary is the Chair of the Group Audit & Risk Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee.
Professor Sir Paul became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited on 1 September 2020. He’s also a member of the Governance and Nominations Committee. Sir Paul has also been appointed as a member of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 1 September 2024.
Russell Picot became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited on 1 February 2021 and became Deputy Chair on 1 September 2021. Russell is also the Chair of the Investment Committee and a member of the Group Audit & Risk Committee.
Sam became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited on 12 August 2024, and is also a member of the Investment Committee.
