Alain became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited and USS Investment Management Limited on 24 January 2022. He’s also a member of the Investment Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
Alain brings more than 25 years’ experience in global financial markets and asset management, with expertise in investment strategy, portfolio construction and institutional investment governance. He previously held senior leadership roles at BlackRock and Goldman Sachs.
Alain also brings significant non-executive director and Board experience. He currently serves as a non-executive director on the Board of Liverpool Victoria Financial Services Limited, the life and pension mutual insurer, and chairs its Investment Committee. He also acts as an advisor to the investment arm of a family office. Alain has held non-executive roles including Chair of the Board at Waystone Fund Services UK Limited and has chaired several investment committees for private wealth organisations.
Alain was awarded a doctorate at AgroParisTech for his work on the modelling of drinking water quality in distribution networks.
