Ian became a director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited in 2026. He is a member of the Group Audit & Risk Committee.
Ian is a Chartered Director, Accredited Professional Pension Trustee, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Currently Interim Chair of the Council at Royal Holloway, University of London, he has more than 30 years of business experience spanning pension fund trusteeship, higher education council membership, and central government audit committee NED work.
Current roles include Trustee Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Church of England Pensions Board, Chair of the Planning and Resources Committee at the Royal College of General Practitioners, and Chair of the Trustee Board of DXC UK’s pension scheme.
Previous roles include Chair of the Finance Committee at Royal Holloway, non-executive director at the Government Actuary’s Department, Trustee Director at Railpen, and non-executive director and Audit Committee member at the Department for Work and Pensions.
