Will became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited in 2018. He is the Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Pensions Committee.
Will has worked in Higher Education since 2007, serving as the first Chief Operating Officer at Loughborough University and subsequently as Registrar, Secretary, and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Manchester until his retirement in 2018.
Before moving into the Higher Education sector, Will had a successful career with ICI, Zeneca and AstraZeneca, working across a range of businesses and functions in both the UK and USA. He established and led a Business Services organisation, providing services to all AstraZeneca's UK sites and also acted as Site Manager at Alderley Park, which at the time was AstraZeneca's largest R&D site globally.
Will was formerly a UUK-nominated member of USS’s Joint Negotiating Committee. He is currently a Trustee Director of AstraZeneca Pensions Trustee Limited and serves as Chair and Trustee Director of a number of charitable community organisations. He is also a member of the Board of Governors at the University of Staffordshire.
Will is a pensioner member of the scheme.
