Will became a Director of Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited in 2018. Will is the Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Pensions Committee.
Will has worked in Higher Education since 2007, initially as the first Chief Operating Officer at Loughborough University and subsequently as the Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Manchester, a position that he retired from in 2018.
Before moving into the Higher Education sector, he followed a career with ICI, Zeneca and AstraZeneca, working in a number of businesses and functions in both the UK and USA. He established and led a Business Services organisation, providing services to all AstraZeneca's UK sites and also acted as Site Manager at what was at the time AstraZeneca's largest R&D site globally, Alderley Park.
Will was formerly a Non-Executive Director of AstraZeneca Pensions Trustee Limited and a UUK-nominated member of USS's Joint Negotiating Committee.
His other activities include acting as Chair and Trustee Director of a number of charitable community groups, including the East Cheshire Hospice.
Will is a pensioner member of the scheme.
