Ian Wilson appointed to USS Board

Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited, the Trustee of Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), is pleased to announce that Ian Wilson has joined the Trustee Board as a Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA)-appointed non-executive director. He joins the Board with effect from 1 September 2026 and will be a member of the Group Audit & Risk Committee.

Ian is a Chartered Director, Accredited Professional Pension Trustee and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has more than 30 years' experience spanning pension fund trusteeship, higher education governance and central government audit committee non-executive roles.

Currently Interim Chair of the Council at Royal Holloway, University of London, Ian's other appointments include Trustee Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Church of England Pensions Board, Trustee and Chair of the Planning and Resources Committee at the Royal College of General Practitioners, and Chair of the Trustee Board of DXC UK's pension scheme.

Ian succeeds Will Spinks, who had been involved with USS for more than a decade, having served as a member of the Joint Negotiating Committee before joining the Trustee Board in 2018.
