USS is an investor in the Whitely Village Outlet Centre, developed by British Land. Whitely Village is a 320,000 sq ft shopping centre with 58 retail and leisure units and 1,500 car parking spaces.

The scheme opened in May 2013 with over 90% of units let, and has traded above expectations since opening. 

Our responsible investment approach was considered as part of the investment, and Whitely was the first UK shopping centre to achieve a BREEAM 2008 Excellent sustainability rating.
