Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited – the trustee of the UK’s largest private pension scheme by way of assets – is pleased to announce that Dr Samuel Marsh joined its board as a University and College Union (UCU)-appointed non-executive director on 12 August 2024.

The Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited board is supported by eight senior executives, providing a breadth of operational and financial skillsets.

At the moment, this is in the early stages. The JNC has set up a working group, which is looking at what changes could be made to reduce the cost of the scheme to members so that less members leave because of affordability. This group is developing a report which will be discussed by the JNC in April after which consultation with stakeholders is expected to follow.
